Volunteer Drivers
We strive to provide reliable transport, but our pool of our volunteer drivers is limited. To ensure your group’s plans always move forward, we encourage you to consider training your own staff or volunteers as drivers. This proactive approach ensures continuity and minimises disruption to your activities.
Drivers will be supported to access the training required, after a short application process, licence checks and meeting criteria.
Becoming a Volunteer Driver
Discover how your driving skills and compassionate nature can make a real difference in the lives of Renfrewshire residents. By becoming a volunteer minibus driver, you’ll contribute to improved wellbeing and increased social engagement within our community.
To ensure the safety and comfort of our passengers, all minibus drivers must hold a D1 entitlement on their driving license and be 25 years of age or older, with a clean driving record. If you passed your test before December 31st, 1996, you’ll automatically have this entitlement. Those with older-style licenses are also covered for Category A vehicles.
We are committed to providing thorough training. All drivers are required to complete a MiDAS (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme) Certificate through our partner providers.
