Welcome to Renfrewshire Community Transport

At Renfrewshire Community Transport (RCT), we are committed to enhancing mobility and access to essential services for the residents of Renfrewshire. As a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO), our mission is to provide safe, accessible, reliable, and affordable community transport services to local groups and individuals.

Book a Minibus
COMING SOON

Soon you will be able to book a minibus for your community group, school, nursery, social club outings and group transport needs. Bookings are on a first come first served basis, and we will aim to increase the minibus numbers and options if we prove there is demand.

We are continually raising funds to secure our first-ever minibus, which we hope to secure in early 2025. We have supporters who have provided vital funds or in-kind support to help us to get things up and running.

To hire the minibus, firstly become a member organisation.

Become a Member Organisation

We welcome new member organisations, to add to our growing membership, this gives you access to our minibus  hires and the option to add people in your organisation and group as approved drivers (this can be volunteers or staff within your group).

Our Mission

Our mission is to offer relief to those in need due to age, health, or poverty through our not-for-profit community transport service.

Our Plans for Future Services

We aim to develop services, from scratch, which includes plans for a pilot phase with our own community minibus initially, to help us get services up and running as soon as possible, gain the correct permits in place (for community minibus hire), and put our systems in place for membership and vehicle hires.

Phase 1

Minibus Hire for Community Groups

We would then aim to develop individual and small group hires for people in the community to access key services, especially where they have been restricted to date by barriers around accessible and reliable transport, we aim to do this by:
Accessible and wheelchair-friendly minibuses available for hire by community groups.
Affordable, reliable, and safe transport options for regular and infrequent trips.

Phase 2

Volunteer and Community Car Transport

We would then aim to develop individual and small group hires for people in the community to access key services, especially where they have been restricted to date by barriers around accessible and reliable transport, we aim to do this by:
Pre-booked transport services provided by volunteer and part-time drivers.
Accessible vehicles, including those equipped for wheelchair users, ensuring no one is excluded from opportunities and services.

Phase 3 and Beyond

Future Services

To help share our services around a community development approach, we will review our plans based on lessons learned, community needs and barriers to transport in the community at the time, we may achieve this one day by:
Potential to develop patient transport, ASN services, social work contracts, and bus routes.
provide training programs for drivers, volunteers and back-office staff, enhancing service quality and operational efficiency.
