Welcome to Renfrewshire Community Transport

Access to transport shouldn’t be a barrier to living a full and connected life. Renfrewshire Community Transport (RCT) exists to ensure that everyone can reach the places that matter.
As a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO), we’re committed to providing safe, and affordable transport services for Renfrewshire community groups and not-for-profit organisations across Renfrewshire.
We know that reliable transport is key for accessing community-based services, health and well-being services, social activities, and community events. We aim to offer more than just a minibus, we’re providing independence and connection. Join us in our mission to connect Renfrewshire, one journey at a time.

Our Mission

Our Plans for Future Services

We aim to develop services, from scratch, which includes plans for a pilot phase with our own community minibus initially, to help us get services up and running as soon as possible, gain the correct permits in place (for community minibus hire), and put our systems in place for membership and vehicle hires.

Phase 1

Minibus Hire for Community Groups

Our first goal is to raise funds to secure minibus(s) for community groups across Renfrewshire to be able to hire.

Accessible and wheelchair-friendly minibuses available for hire by community groups.
Affordable, reliable, and safe transport options for regular and infrequent trips.

Phase 2

Volunteer and Community Car Transport

We would then aim to develop individual and small group hires for people in the community to access key services, especially where they have been restricted to date by barriers around accessible and reliable transport, we aim to do this by:
Pre-booked transport services provided by volunteer and part-time drivers.
Accessible vehicles, including those equipped for wheelchair users, ensuring no one is excluded from opportunities and services.

Phase 3 and Beyond

Future Services

To help share our services around a community development approach, we will review our plans based on lessons learned, community needs and barriers to transport in the community at the time, we may achieve this one day by:
Potential to develop patient transport, ASN services, social work contracts, and bus routes.
provide training programs for drivers, volunteers and back-office staff, enhancing service quality and operational efficiency.
